The Stony Brook men's tennis team fell, 4-3, to St. Joseph's on the final day of the ECAC Men's Tennis Invitational. Stony Brook won three of six singles lines in the loss.
St. Joseph's claimed two of the three doubles matches to win the doubles point. Nihal Advani and Quirijn Van Veen fell at No. 1, 8-6, Matt Jacobson and Alex Markovich fell at No. 2, 9-7, and Ilan Shvartz and Jon Epstein claimed the sole doubles win at No. 3, 8-3.
In singles, St. Joseph's won three of six lines to clinch the match, 4-3. Advani lost at No. 1, 6-3, 7-5, Shvartz won at No. 2, 6-4, 6-4, Fassi-Fehri retired down 1-0 in the second set at No. 3, Van Veen won at No. 4, 6-1, 7-5, Jacobson lost at No. 5, 6-3, 6-3, and Markovich won at No. 6, 6-1, 6-2.
The Seawolves return to action this Friday when they host Hofstra in a dual match. The match is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
