Men's Tennis Blanks Hofstra, 7-0

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over the visiting Hofstra Pride on Friday afternoon. The Seawolves picked up their first win of the 2006 campaign and improve to 1-3 on the year.

Stony Brook won two of three doubles as Nihal Advani and Quirijn Van Veen rolled to a 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles and Youssef Fassi-Fehri and Alex Markovich won at No. 3 by default to claim the doubles point.

In singles, the Seawolves swept all six lines as they cruised to a 7-0 win. Advani won at No. 1, 6-0, 6-4, Ilan Shvartz won at No. 2, 2-6, 6-4, 10-4, Van Veen was victorious at No. 3, 6-2, 7-6, Fassi-Fehri won at No. 4, 6-3, 6-3, Markovich won at No. 5,6-3, 4-6, 10-6, and Matt Jacobson won at No. 6 by default.

The Seawolves return to action on Saturday when they host both Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth.
