Men's Swimming Edges Merchant Marines, 130-109

Kings Point, N.Y. - The Seawolves earned first place points off three of the first four events as the Stony Brook men's swimming and diving team topped the Merchant Marines Academy, 130-109. Stony Brook is 5-2 on the season, winner of four in a row.

Stony Brook's "A' relay started the day off well when it won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:37.37.

Raphy Labour and Alexander Kissel each placed first in the 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle, respectively.

Aleksandr Demin won his first two events of the year when he swept the one meter and three meter diving events. In the one meter, Demin placed first, just seven points ahead of second place. In the three meter, Demin had a score of 179.90.

Labour and Jon Sigurosson each won two events on the day.

The men's swimming and diving team joins the women's team on a winter training trip to Key Largo, Florida before facing Binghamton and Lafayette in a tri-meet at Binghamton on January 17, 2007. The meet is scheduled to start at 2 pm.
