The Stony Brook University swimming and diving squads split with Binghamton University this afternoon at University Pool in a very close meet. While the women topped the Bearcats, 155-81, the men's squad was nipped by the Bearcats, 122-121.

Shirlee Manoogian was a dual-winner on the afternoon, breaking two school records in the process. Manoogian touched first in the 100 free (51.90) and the 200 IM (2:06.75). Jamie Bevilacqua won the 50 free (25.37) while Courtney Teague touched first in the 200 free in a time of 1:58.65. Kym Sgrignoli won the 500 free in 5:25.15. Lucy Liu picked up two wins for the Seawolves, touching first in the 1000 free in 10:59.29 and 200 butterfly (2:17.34). Kim Harris was victorious in the 200 backstroke (2:14.06) while Allison DeSanti swam to victory in the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.20. The Seawolves took care of the relay's, as the 200 freestyle relay of Manoogian, Teague, Autumn Griggers, and Bevilacqua won in 2:00.00, and the 200 medley relay team of Harris, Alison Porteus, DeSanti, and Bevilacqua won in 1:52.17.

Hailey Lewandowski picked up wins on both boards on the afternoon, claiming victory in the one-meter (247.95), winning by almost 50 points over her next competitor, and winning the three-meter (241.27) by over 50 points.

With the score 118-108 heading into the final 400 freestyle relay on the men's side, the Seawolves needed to finish in first and second to capture the meet. After the team of Omer Ozcan, Dan Piastuck, Alex Kissel, and Nathan French cruised to victory with a time of 3:12.55, the Bearcats barely out touched the team of Kyle Thornton, Bryce Cullinane, Yoni Eldor, and Christoper Pai by .05 seconds to secure the victory. The Bearcats relay finished in 3:15.73, while the Seawolves touched in 3:15.78.

The Seawolves picked up a huge win from Jon Sigurosson in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.74), while Vladimir Sreckovic placed second in 2:13.22.

Rafael Labour picked up a win in the 200 backstroke (1:54.00, while finishing second in 200 IM in a time of 1:59.78. Bryce Cullinane finished second in the 500 free (4:55.18), and the 1000 free (10:11.08).

The Seawolves return to action when they head to Boston University to participate in the America East Championships held from February 16th to the 19th.

Julian Acevado cruised in the diving competitions, winning the three-meter (279.65) and the one-meter (282.00).
