Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Ron Forman's unassisted goal proved to be the difference as Adelphi defeated the Stony Brook University men's soccer team, 1-0, Tuesday evening at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. The loss drops the Seawolves to 2-7 on the season while Adelphi evens its record at 4-4.
The two teams played a scoreless first half with both teams managing just four shots. Stony Brook nearly netted the first goal of the contest on a Michael Palacio free kick from 25 yards out that was saved by Adelphi keeper Michael Hurley.
On the slick turf, Forman received a pass on the left side of the 18-yard box, turned, and buried a bouncing ball over the head of a sprawling EJ Xikis to put the visitors up, 1-0, in the 63rd minute.
Palacio finished the game with six shots while Xikis made three saves in net.
The Seawolves wrap up a two-game homestand when they host NJIT on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
