The Stony Brook volleyball team was swept by St. John's University, 3-0 (30-28, 30-26, 30-23), Wednesday evening. Despite double-digit kill efforts from Morgan Sweany and Gulce Nazli Dikecligil the Seawolves fall to 5-2 on the season. With the win the Red Storm remain perfect at 7-0.
Dikecligil led the Stony Brook offense, posting a team high 12 kills and adding nine digs in the loss. Sweany rattled off 10 kills and seven digs, Kaitlyn Deustch tallied 27 assists and Claire Lindner led the Seawolf defense with 15 digs. As a team the Seawolves only hit at a .094 clip.
The Seawolves return to action this weekend when they host the Holiday Inn Express Invitational. The Seawolves welcome No. 17 Ohio, Maryland, Albany, Yale and Siena to the Stony Brook Sports Complex for an exciting weekend of Division I volleyball action. The tournament begins on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
