Women's Swimming and Diving falls to Binghamton and Lafayette

Vestal, N.Y. - Lucy Liu and Hailey Lewandowski each won events but the Stony Brook women's swimming and diving team fell to Binghamton, 83-57 and Lafayette, 93-45 at the Saunders Aquatic Center. The Seawolves are 2-6, 0-3 in the America East.

Liu won event 9 on the afternoon, the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.56 just .29 tenths of a second ahead of the second place finisher. Liu followed up later with another first place finish, this time in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:12.28.

Lewandowski won the one meter dive with a score of 247.75 and nearly won the three meter dive, finishing second behind Katherine Hassfurter of Binghamton.

Stony Brook returns to action when they host Vermont on Saturday, January 20. The meet is scheduled for 12 pm.
