The Stony Brook men's tennis team lost a hard fought match to the Black Knights of Army on Friday evening at West Point, N.Y. Army swept all three doubles matches and split the singles matches to hold on for the win. Stony Brook moves to 4-6 on the year.
The Seawolves dropped all three doubles matches as they fell to an early 1-0 defecit. Quirijn Van Veen won at No. 1, 6-3, 6-3, and Jon Epstein won at No. 5, 6-4, 6-4, to bring Stony Brook back into the match. Youssef Fassi-Fehri edged Phil Muhawi, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 at No. 3 singles but it was not enough as Army held on for the 4-3 win.
The Seawolves return to action Wednesday, March 28 when they take on Yale.
