The Stony Brook men's tennis team improved to 1-1 in America East play as the Seawolves topped Hartford, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon. With the win the men improve to 7-10 overall and 1-1 in league play.
The Seawolves swept all three doubles matches en route to claiming the point. Nihal Advani and Alex Markovich edged their opponent at No. 1, 8-7, Quirijn Van Veen and Ilan Shvartz won at No. 2, 8-4, and the duo of Youssef Fassi-Fehri and Jon Epstein won at No. 3, 8-2.
In singles, the Seawolves did not drop a set as they completed the sweep. Van Veen won at No. 1 when his opponent retired in the second set, Fassi-Fehri won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2, Advani won at No. 3, 6-2, 6-1, Shvartz won at No. 4, 6-0, 6-2, Epstein won at No. 5, 8-0, and Markovich won at No. 6, 8-0.
The Seawolves return to action on Friday when they travel to Yale to compete in the America East Tournament.
