Swimming & Diving Competes at Husky Invitational

Storrs, Conn. - Stony Brook University's swimming & diving teams had nine top-five finishes at the Husky Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Storrs, Conn. The Seawolves top finish came in the 200-yard freestyle relay, in which they touched first.

Freshman Darcy Heuser (Centerville, Ohio), freshman Kelsey Stranc (Chicago, Ill.), sophomore Adrienne Policht (Mississauga, Canada) and Maja Gudelj (Split, Croatia) completed the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:41.47, just edging Connecticut for the top spot. Heuser has two other top-five finishes, taking fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.02) and third in the 200-yard IM (2:15.12). The women's team placed two swimmers in the top-five in the 400-yard IM with freshman Mallory Breen (Quispamsis, Canada) taking fourth (4:53.20) and junior Jayme Burns (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) touching fifth (5:01.89).

Freshmen Daniel Kim (Douglaston, N.Y.) and Zackery Good (Columbus, Ind.) had the top finishes for the men's team, taking fourth in the 400-yard IM and 1,000-yard free respectively. Kim finished in 4:28.90 and Good touched in 10:13.89. Sophomore Lukasz Ochmanski (Lodz, Poland) took fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.34) while freshman Daniel Ortiz (Brentwood, N.Y.) touched fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.44).

The Seawolves host the University of Massachusetts next Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
