Men's Soccer Falls To Vermont, 5-1

Burlington, Vt. - Vermont's T.J. Gore and Jake McFadden each scored two goals and Jordan Crasilneck added a goal and three assists to lead the Catamounts to a 5-1 win over the Stony Brook men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon at Centennial Field. Stony Brook is 2-9-1, 0-1-0 in America East play while Vermont is 4-2-4, 1-0-0.

In the America East opener for both teams, Vermont struck first when Gore converted a header off a free kick from Crasilneck. Gore tallied his second goal of the game in the 27th minute.

After taking a 2-0 halftime lead, McFadden scored two goals just nine minutes apart to give Vermont a 4-0 advantage.

Vermont took a 5-0 lead before Stony Brook scored its first of the game. In the 66th minute, sophomore Mark Secko (Shoreham, N.Y.) took a pass from sophomore Michele Aquino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and blasted a shot from 15 yards out past Vermont keeper Roger Scully.

After its longest road streak since 2004, the Seawolves return home for Boston University on Wednesday evening at LaValle Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 7 pm.
