Washington, D.C. -
Georgetown's Scott Larrabee scored in the 73rd minute to give the #20 Hoyas, a 1-0 win over the Stony Brook men's soccer team at North Kehoe Field on Wednesday afternoon. The loss by the Seawolves (1-3-1) is their third 1-0 loss of the season.
Georgetown (5-0-0) got off the first four shots of the game before freshman Yannick Prescod (Rochester, N.Y.) had an opportunity but his header was saved. The Hoyas continued to pepper senior goalkeeper Dawid Ditrich (Gdansk, Poland) but for the fifth straight game, didn't allow a first-half goal.
Freshman Tom Butler (Birmingham, England) and junior James Palumbo (Carmel, N.Y.) each recorded early second-half shots but were unable to convert. Neither team recorded a shot until Larrabee's shot from the top of the box went just past Ditrich's hands. Palumbo and junior Oscar Leis (Ozone Park, N.Y.) had late opportunities but Georgetown was able to preserve the shutout.
The Seawolves return home to face Columbia on Friday night. Kick-off is slated for 7 pm.
