Men's Soccer Falls to Yale, 4-1

New Haven, Conn. - Yale's Jon Carlos tallied two goals and the Bulldogs scored three of their four goals in the first half, to defeat the Stony Brook men's soccer team, 4-1, at Reese Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Seawolves fall to 2-4-1 while Yale is 2-2.

Yale got on the board in the 10th minute when Carlos beat a Stony Brook defender for the ball and scored. Seven minutes later, the Bulldogs scored again when Kevin Pope put in a free kick. 13 seconds before the first half ended, Yale scored off a free kick.

After Carlos' second goal made the score 4-0, Stony Brook got on the board in the 49th minute. Freshman Yannick Prescod (Rochester, N.Y.) sent a pass into the box. Junior Oscar Leis (Ozone Park, N.Y.) corralled the ball then dribbled through two Yale defenders and scored in the lower right hand corner for his second goal of the year.

Sophomore Greg Tinari (Holbrook, N.Y.) had a team-high three shots for the Seawolves.

Stony Brook continues its non-conference schedule with a home match against Towson on Saturday night. Kick-off is slated for 7 pm.
