Redshirt freshman keeper Anthony Rogic (Boonton, N.J.) made three saves while shutting out #15 Boston University in the second half, but the Terriers scored three first-half goals in a 3-0 win over the Stony Brook men's soccer team on Saturday evening. The Seawolves are 1-8-2, 0-1-0 America East while Boston University is 7-2-2, 1-0-0.
Boston University's Samuel Appiah scored two goals in a three-minute span to give the Terriers a two-goal lead midway through the first half. Nick Prunier added the Terriers' third goal, scoring just two minutes before halftime.
Sophomore Wilber Bonilla (Brentwood, N.Y.) and freshman Leonardo Fernandes (North Babylon, N.Y.) had Stony Brook's first two shot attempts but Bonilla's was blocked and Fernandes' went wide.
In the 68th minute, senior Damion Brown (Kingston, Jamaica) went up for a header but his attempt went wide.
Stony Brook continues conference play on Wednesday night when it travels to face UMBC. Kick-off is slated for 7 pm.
