The Stony Brook men's basketball team is heading to Europe and now you can follow the team on its trip through Dublin, London and Paris by visiting the Newsday.com blog and following the team on Twitter.

Newsday.com and Stony Brook men's basketball have partnered together to provide a daily look at the team's trip as the Seawolves visit historic sites around the cities of Dublin, London and Paris and play five exhibition games against club teams. Players, coaches and administrators will be blogging as they experience a once-in-a-lifetime trip. The first entry was a collective team response to the question: what are you looking forward to most on this trip? You can visit the blog by logging on to Newsday.com/sbu.

Fans can also get quick updates on the trip by following the team on Twitter at @SBU_MBB_Europe. If time allows, the team will also be posting videos to Stony Brook Athletics' YouTube channel at YouTube.com/StonyBrookSeawolves. Any videos posted will also be embedded on the Newsday blog.

The Seawolves will be playing five exhibition games during their stay in Europe, beginning Aug. 13 against Killester. For more information on the games, see the schedule below.

Head coach Steve Pikiell is in his seventh season at the helm of the Seawolves, and he returns 12 lettermen, including four starters, from last season's team that reached the America East Championship final for the first time in program history. He has added two newcomers to complete a 2011-12 team that expects to compete for the conference championship and vie for its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

2011-12 season ticket information for the men's basketball team is now available online at GoSeawolves.org/tickets and will go on sale Sept. 1. Individual game tickets will go on sale Oct. 1, and the 2011-12 men's basketball schedule will be released at a later date.
