Stony Brook University Athletics has released its 2010-11 Annual Report, a publication that chronicles the highlights and successes the department had during the previous athletic year and honors the department's donors.
This year, Stony Brook Athletics is proud to make the publication interactive online for readers. Within the online publication are videos from the past year, including the full 2010-11 highlight video, which debuted at the annual end-of-the-year athletics banquet. All of Stony Brook Athletics' donors will also receive a hard copy of the Annual Report in the mail.
In 2010-11, Stony Brook Athletics continued its upward rise in national prominence, featuring two conference and two regular season champions, a three-time All-American runner who finished as the runner-up in a national championship race, seven national television appearances, including four by the men's basketball team, and a wealth of awards.
By the numbers of the 2010-11 season, Stony Brook Athletics had:
• One top 10 NCAA finish in a team sport
• One individual national championship runner-up
• Two conference champions,
• Two regular season champions
• Nine All-Americans
• 69 All-Conference selections
• 210 Academic Honor roll student-athletes
• 22 Academic All-Conference selections
• Six Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year
• Five SUNY Chancellor's Awards recipients
• Three America East Players of the Year
• Three America East Coaches of the Year
• Three America East Rookies of the Year
• Two Major League Baseball draft picks
• Four Major League Lacrosse draft picks
• Seven nationally televised events
