Bethlehem, Pa. -
Senior Max Sztabholz (Paris France) won 8-6 in a third set tiebreak at No. 5 singles to send the Stony Brook men's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Lehigh on Friday night. The win snapped Lehigh's six-match winning streak.
Szatabholz dropped the first set 6-2 against Andrew Krentz but rallied to win the second, 6-4, before winning the third in thrilling fashion to break the 3-3 deadlock and give the Seawolves the victory.
Sophomore Nikita Fomin (Moscow, Russia) and freshman Stefan Ilic (Forest Hills, N.Y.) each won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, respectively, while freshman Francis Bertrand (Repentigny, Quebec) won in three sets at the No. 2 position.
