The Stony Brook University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the second day of the Yale Classic as it was swept by Yale (26-24, 25-16, 28-26) in a tightly contested match before falling in three sets to SEC power Texas A&M (25-14, 25-22, 25-19).
The Numbers Game
• Rigo had a match-high 14 kills in each match
• Sophomore Nicole Parkas had a career-best 17 digs in both matches
• Freshman setter Nicole Vogel had a combined 51 assists on Saturday
• Rigo averaged 5.56 points per set for the weekend
Key Moments
• Neither team led by more than four in the opening set against Yale
• Stony Brook had set point in the first set against Yale following a kill from sophomore Evann Slaughter before the Bulldogs scored three straight points
• SB led all the way in the third set against Yale before the Bulldogs took a 20-19 advantage
• Stony Brook rallied to take a 26-25 lead on a Rigo kill but Yale against answered with three straight points to take the set
• Texas A&M led just 22-20 in the second set after a kill from sophomore Katie Anderson but the Aggies scored three of the next five points to take a 2-0 lead
