Freshmen Raphael Termat (Nice, France) and Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) each picked up singles wins and teamed for a victory at No. 1 doubles to lead the Stony Brook men's tennis team to a 6-1 win over Quinnipiac Wednesday.
Termat, playing No. 2 singles, dominated Eric Ambrosio, 6-2, 6-0, to pick up his eighth singles win in dual matches.
Hoffman, who picked up his team-leading 10th dual singles win of the season, defeated Luke Roser, 6-1, 6-1.
Sophomore Marcelo Locatelli (Londrina, Brazil) and freshman Brandon Stone (Melville, N.Y.) each won in third-set tiebreakers.
Termat and Hoffman won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, and Stony Brook clinched the doubles point after Stone and freshman Alexandre Felisa (Boulogne, France) at No. 3.
Stony Brook will play its only two America East matches of the season against Binghamton and Hartford. The match against the Bearcats starts at 9 a.m. and Hartford at 3 p.m.
