#Seawolves beat Fairfield, 4-0

Stony Brook, N.Y. - In its final tune-up before the start of America East Championship play, the Stony Brook men's tennis team topped Fairfield, 4-0, Monday at University Courts.

The Seawolves (11-6) received strong singles performances from freshmen Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) and Brandon Stone (Melville, N.Y.) and sophomore Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.).

Hoffman, who teamed with freshman Raphael Termat (Nice, France) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles, beat Cam Amyot, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. Stone also won in straight sets, defeating B.J. Merinder at No. 6. Morales captured a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.

Sophomores Marcelo Locatelli (Londrina, Brazil) and Vinicius Degani (Sao Paolo, Brazil) helped capture the doubles point with an 8-6 win at No. 3.

UMBC will host the America East Championships, which will get underway on Friday, April 25 in Columbia, Md.
