Sophomore Alexandre Felisa (Boulogne, France) won the 'B' singles flight to lead the Stony Brook men's tennis team at the sixth annual Stony Brook Invitational.
Felisa rolled into the semifinals before dropping the first set to Stevens Tech's Michael Feldman. But Felisa rallied to win 6-2 in the second set. Felisa was dominant in third set, winning 10-1.
Felisa faced teammate and sophomore Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) in the finals, where Felisa came out on top 6-3, 6-4.
Hoffman was victorious in the semifinals 6-4, 6-4 over Hofstra's Nico Vulinovich.
Sophomore Kenzo Kauffmann (La Croix, Switzerland) won two matches in the 'C' singles flight before losing in the semifinals.
Junior Vinicius Degani (Sao Paolo, Brazil) and senior Albert Fontova (Lleida, Spain) faced off in the semifinals, where Fontova edged Degani, 6-1, 6-4. Fontova lost in the finals, 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 to Quinnipiac's Willem Van Biezen.
Felisa and junior Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) lost an 'A' semifinals doubles flight to Quinnipiac's duo of Kuwert and Rozenstein.
The Seawolves will return to competition in two weeks at the Hofstra Invitational.
