Lowell, Mass. - For the first time in 10 matches, the Stony Brook men's soccer team (4-6-2, 1-2-0 AE) couldn't find the back of the net, falling at UMass Lowell (7-5-0, 2-1-0 AE), 2-0.
Highlights
- Jay Marchand's rebound goal gave the River Hawks the lead in the 39th minute. It was just the second time in the last seven matches that the Seawolves didn't score the first goal.
- Jacob Fitzgerald was the benificiary of another rebound, following up his initial shot to give UMass Lowell a 2-0 lead in the 48th minute.

- The River Hawks outshot the Seawolves 13-10.
- Senior Martin Giordano (Weston, Fla.) led the Seawolves with five shots.
- Senior Jason Orban (Manorville, N.Y.) made five saves in the loss.
- Stony Brook was held off the scoresheet for the first time since a 0-0 draw with Sacred Heart on Aug. 31, and only the second time this season.
- The Seawolves are 1-5 on the road this season, as opposed to 3-1-2 at home.
