The Stony Brook volleyball team fell to America East foe New Hampshire in four sets (21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 18-25) Friday evening at Pritchard Gymnasium. In the defeat, the Seawolves fall to 11-18 and 5-6 in America East, while the Wildcats improve to 18-8 and 10-1 in conference play.
Highlights
- The Seawolves came back from down 23-21 in the third set to take the frame 25-23 and force a fourth set.
- Freshman Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) and senior Nicole Vogel (Costa Mesa, Calif.) combined for 55 assists. Kath tallied 38 while Vogel had 17 to go along with 13 digs.
- Senior Kathy Fletcher (West Chicago, Ill.) notched 16 kills and seven digs.
- Sophomore Cydney Bowman (Lake Mary, Fla.) had 10 kills, 17 digs and three blocks.
- Freshman Taylor Wilson (Corydon, Ind.) tallied 11 kills on a .333 hitting percentage and eight digs.
Notes
- The Seawolves fall to 14-20 in the Division I era against New Hampshire, who swept the regular-season series with Friday’s win.
- Stony Brook will have an opportunity to clinch a spot in the America East Championship with a win over Hartford Sunday or a Binghamton loss to UMass Lowell.
