West Point, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's tennis team split its opening weekend matches, beating Connecticut before falling to Army.

The Seawolves dominated the Huskies and easily won the doubles point. The duo of sophomore Alexandre Felisa (Boulogne, France) and junior Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) won 6-3 at No. 1.

Each of Stony Brook's six singles victories over the Huskies were in straight sets. Sophomore Raphael Termat (Nice, English) led the squad with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles.

Led by Termat and sophomore Kenzo Kauffmann (La Croix, Switzerland) and Hoffman and sophomore Brandon Stone (Melville, N.Y.), Stony Brook earned the doubles point against Army. Termat and Kauffmann won 6-1 at No. 2 and Hoffman and Stone 7-5 at No. 3.

Termat also won his singles match at No. 1 singles, beating Sam Lampman, 7-6, 7-6.

Despite losing four singles flights, the Seawolves battled, taking the Black Knights to three sets.

Stony Brook will play Lehigh on Friday, February 13 at 3 p.m.
