Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's tennis team split its weekend matches against Sacred Heart and UMBC. The Seawolves defeated the Pioneers, 6-1, on Senior Day before falling to the Retrievers, 6-1.

Senior Albert Fontova (Lleida, Spain) contributed a singles win at No. 6 and a doubles win at No. 3. Fontova beat Cory Seltman, 7-5, 6-4 and teamed with sophomore Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) for a 6-4 victory.

In addition to claiming the doubles point, Stony Brook won four singles flights in straight sets. Junior Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) led the charge with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2.

Hoffman claimed a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles over Karan Narula.

Stony Brook earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 3 over UMBC. Morales and sophomore Alexandre Felisa (Boulogne, France) earned an 8-3 win over Gray/Drean.

Hoffman and junior Vinicius Degani (Sao Paulo, Brazil) topped Carter/Loubatie, 8-4.

UMBC won all six singles flights.

Stony Brook will wrap up the regular season Tuesday at Quinnipiac.
