Stony Brook falls to Illinois State, 4-2

St. Louis, Mo. - The Stony Brook men's tennis team lost to Illinois State, 4-2, in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference team tennis championship Friday in St. Louis.

Despite losing the doubles point, the Seawolves (5-8) were strong at the top of the lineup during singles play. Sophomore Raphael Termat beat Jakub Eisner, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 and sophomore Alexandre Felisa (Boulogne, France) topped Jacob Wilson, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 2.

Junior Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) and sophomore Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) each won the first set in their respective singles matches. Morales rallied in the third set after falling behind 5-1 to close within 5-4, but was outlasted by Rolando Torrellas, 6-4.

Hoffman's match ended once Illinois State clinched.

Termat was named to the All-Tournament Team.
