Stony Brook, N.Y. – The Stony Brook volleyball team received another balanced effort on the attack but it was not enough, as UMBC erased an 0-2 deficit to defeat Stony Brook in five sets (25-17, 25-21, 24-26, 22-25, 9-15) on Friday night at Pritchard Gymnasium. With the loss, the Seawolves drop to 6-16 overall and 2-5 in the America East, while the Retrievers improve to 14-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
By the Numbers
- Sophomore
Taylor Wilson (Corydon, Ind.) did a little bit of everything tonight for the Seawolves, tying a career high of five blocks to go along with 13 kills, with two aces and digs.
- Freshman
Maria Poole also tallied 13 kills and added four blocks and two digs of her own.
- Sophomore
McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) led Stony Brook with 14 kills in the match.
- Freshman
Kardasia Hitchcock (Alexander City, Ala.) finished with a career-high 19 digs.
- Sophomore
Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) also tallied a career high with 18 digs to go along with 45 assists.
