STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Looking to remain alive in the FCS Playoff hunt, the Stony Brook football team hosts CAA Footbal foe Maine in the regular season home finale on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
 
The Seawolves (5-4, 4-2 CAA Football) currently sit in a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings along with Richmond and the Black Bears (5-4, 4-2 CAA Football). Saturday also marks senior day when Stony Brook's nine seniors (WR Tim Keith, WR Pat D'Amato, DB Jaheem Woods, DB Kye Morgan, PK Przemyslaw Popek, DS Kevin Fennell, OL Mike White, WR Steve Marino and DL Aaron Thompson ) will be honors with a ceremony prior to kickoff.

Maine is 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the CAA Football standings. The Black Bears sit in a fourth-place tie in the standings with Stony Brook and Richmond. Maine saw their five-game winning streak snapped last weekend at home to Villanova.

The Series
This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools. Maine owns a 3-2 series advantage with the home team winning each of the previous five meetings. The Blackbears earned a 23-10 victory last season in Orono, while the Seawolves claimed the last meeting in LaValle Stadium 19-7 in 2014.

Stony Brook's captains for the 2016 season are graduate WR Tim Keith, senior DB Jaheem Woods, senior DL Aaron Thompson, junior DB Tyrice Beverette and junior RB Stacey Bedell. Saturday's honorary captain is Dan Flores '99, a TE on Stony Brook's first Division I team.
 
Last Time Out
Despite an early first quarter blocked punt for a touchdown by DB Kye Morgan, the Stony Brook football team came up short in a 14-9 loss to visiting William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in a CAA Football Conference game.
 
Family Affair
Stony Brook RBs Stacey Bedell and Jordan Gowins share more than just the carries out of the backfield, the two are first cousins. Bedell, a junior from Mastic Beach, N.Y., and Gowins, a sophomore transfer from Bellport, N.Y., have family blood running through their veins. So far in 2016, the duo has combined to carry the ball 253 times for 1,082 yards and 12 touchdowns.
 
Climbing The Charts
RB Stacey Bedell enters the Maine game ranked among the top 10 in several of Stony Brook's career rushing records. The junior sits second in career 100 yard games (12), third in career touchdowns (23), fifth in career carries (395) and seventh in career rushing yards (2099).
