Seawolves defeated by Albany

Box Score Albany, N.Y. – The Stony Brook volleyball team was held off by first-place Albany in three sets (26-28, 19-25, 20-25) Friday night in an America East match at University Gym. In the defeat, the Seawolves fall to 6-18 and 2-7 in the America East, while the Great Danes improve to 15-7 and 9-1 in conference play.
 
By the Numbers
- Freshman Jordan Gels (Lewis Center, Ohio) tied a career-high with a team-high 14 kills.
- Redshirt-sophomore Emily Costello (Webster, N.Y.) notched a career-high nine kills and added a season-best 11 digs.
- Sophomore Taylor Wilson (Corydon, Ind.) added nine kills while freshman Maria Poole (Stavanger, Norway) chipped in eight.
- Freshman Kardasia Hitchcock (Alexander City, Ala.) recorded a team-high 18 digs.
- Sophomore Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) tallied 40 assists.
- The Seawolves were outhit, .190-.106.
 
Notes
- Stony Brook falls to 12-30 in the Division I era against Albany.
- The start for Costello Friday was her first since Oct. 30, 2014 at Delaware State.
