Hempstead, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team hits the road for a Tuesday night match at cross-island foe Hofstra, as the Seawolves look to hand the Pride its first loss of 2016.

Tuesday's match will be played in the Mack Fitness Center due to the upcoming Presidential debate in Hofstra's regular home venue.
Last Time Out: UCF Invitational
The Seawolves picked up a win over Stetson in straight sets during a 1-2 weekend at the UCF Invitational, while falling to the host Knights and Kent State.
Scouting the Pride
Hofstra enters Tuesday at 3-0 on the year after a spotless weekend at Army West Point. The Pride picked up a five-set victory over Valparaiso along with four-set wins against Cal State Bakersfield and the host Black Knights.
Veronika Kostova posted a team-best 4.38 kills/set in the opening weekend while hitting a blistering .473. Hannah Klemm recorded 9.92 assists/set on the weekend, while Luisa Domingues tallied 5.00 digs/set. The Pride limited its opponents to a .127 hitting percentage on the weekend.
The Last Time We Met: Hofstra
Hofstra swept the 2015 meeting at Pritchard Gymnasium in the Seawolves' home opener, Sept. 7, 2015.
History vs. the Pride
Stony Brook is 1-3 against Hofstra in the Division I era, with the lone victory coming in 1999.

Sophomore Taylor Wilson was named to the UCF Invitational All-Tournament Team after hitting .322 with 2.50 kills/set and 0.80 blocks/set.
Gels Bells
Freshman Jordan Gels had an impressive all-around weekend to open her collegiate career, tallying 2.70 digs/set, 0.90 blocks/set, 15 kills and six aces.
Far More Hits than Los Del Rio
The Seawolves hit .402 in the win over Stetson, marking the first time Stony Brook hit over .400 in a match since recording a .409 hitting percentage in a sweep of UMass Lowell on Oct. 30, 2015.
Pack Plenty of Snacks
The Seawolves play their first seven matches and 10 of their first 11 on the road for the second consecutive year.
Welcome Back
The Seawolves also regain the services of two players who redshirted as sophomores in 2015. Outside hitter Emily Costello and defensive specialist Abby Hickey both return for 2016. Both Seawolves appeared in the Aug. 26 sweep of Stetson.

The Seawolves will travel to Louisville for the weekend, as Stony Brook will square off with Auburn, Louisville and Santa Clara at the Active Ankle Challenge Friday and Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center.
