Hempstead, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team was defeated by Hofstra in straight sets (19-25, 25-27, 21-25) Tuesday night at the David S. Mack Fitness Center. In the defeat, the Seawolves fall to 1-3, while the Pride improves to 4-0.
Turning Point
The Seawolves led 21-16 in the second set before the Pride stormed back to take the set 27-25 and win the match in three sets.
By the Numbers
- Sophomore
McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) had a career-high eight blocks to go along with eight kills.
- Freshman
Jordan Gels (Lewis Center, Ohio) was tied for the team-high with eight kills and added four digs.
- Junior
Melann Amory (Center Valley, Pa.) tallied a team-high 12 digs.
- The Seawolves were outhit .250-.131 in the match.

- Brooks' eight blocks were the most by an America East player in a three-set match since Binghamton's Bianca Anderson tallied 10 blocks vs. Siena Sept. 8, 2014.
- The Seawolves fall to 1-4 against the Pride in the Division I era.
