STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Looking to bounce back after last week, the Stony Brook football team returns home and opens conference play on Saturday when they welcome second-ranked and defending CAA Football champion Richmond to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium for a 12 p.m. kickoff.

Opponent
Richmond, the second ranked team in the nation in all three polls, is 2-0 this season after a 37-20 victory at FBS Virginia ad a 34-0 win over Norfolk State. The Spiders are led by head coach Danny Rocco in his fifth season at UR.
The Series
This will be the third meeting between the two schools on the football field. Richmond won the previous two meetings. The Spiders defeated the Seawolves 42-0 on Oct. 13, 2007 in Richmond and edged out a 39-31 CAA Football win on Nov. 9, 2013 on Long Island.
