Seawolves downed by American in four sets

Stony Brook, N.Y. – The Stony Brook volleyball team fell in four sets to American (21-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-25) Friday night at Pritchard Gymnasium. In the defeat, the Seawolves drop to 2-10, while the Eagles improve to 9-5.
 
By the Numbers
- Freshman Maria Poole (Stavanger, Norway) recorded a career-high 12 kills and a .474 (12k-3e-19ta) hitting percentage.
- Freshman Liz Pulver (Temecula, Calif.) led the Seawolves with 13 kills.
- Freshman Kardasia Hitchcock (Alexander City, Ala.) matched her career-best with 14 digs.
- Freshman Jordan Gels (Lewis Center, Ohio) tallied a career-high 11 kills along with 10 digs.
- Sophomore Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) notched 39 assists and 10 digs.
- The Eagles outhit the Seawolves, .328-.246.

- Thirty-eight of the Seawolves' 52 kills came from freshmen, along with 27 of 43 digs.
- Junior Dani Nizich (Nesconset, N.Y.) made her 2016 debut Friday after missing the first 11 matches of the year due to injury.
