McKyla Brooks matched her career-high with 15 kills, while

Scouting the Retrievers
UMBC is a league-best 9-3 entering conference play following a 2-0 weekend at Columbia with wins over Columbia and Providence.
Abbie Mirabella leads the America East with 4.35 kills/set, while Claudia Lopez has posted a conference-best 10.60 assists/set. The Retrievers have limited opponents to a .175 team hitting percentage for the year.
The Last Time We Met: UMBC
The Seawolves and Retrievers split the season series a year ago, with each team tallying a victory at home. Stony Brook swept UMBC in the conference opener at Pritchard Gymnasium Sept. 25, 2015, while UMBC won in four at RAC Arena Oct. 25.
The Seawolves are 15-11 against the Retrievers in the Division I era. UMBC joined the America East in 2003.

Poole, Swimming in Awards
Freshman
Maria Poole was named to the all-tournament team in two of the Seawolves' nonconference invitationals - the Art Carmichael Invitational at Rhode Island and the Hofstra/Stony Brook Invitational.
The Freshmen
All five Seawolves freshmen have started at least two matches this season. The quintet combined for 69.2% of the Seawolves' kills last weekend.
