Fairfield, Conn. - The Stony Brook men's soccer team (5-2-2) battled Sacred Heart (2-4-2) to a 1-1 tie in Fairfield, Connecticut on Sunday.

"I thought we deserved more today," said head coach
Ryan Anatol. "We created some really good chances but didn't do well enough in front of goal. Give their keeper credit though, not just for saving the pk, but he made some huge stops today to keep them in the game."
Highlights
- Stony Brook had an opportunity to take the lead in the 15th minute when they were awarded a penalty but junior Thibault Duval's (Liege, Belgium effort from the spot was stopped.
- The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when Kieran Walsh's shot was deflected into the goal.
- Senior Eduardo Valle (Miami, Fla.) tied for the team-lead with his fourth goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the 36th minute.
