STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook volleyball team was unable to get by Albany, falling 3-1 in Pritchard Gym on Friday night. The Seawolves dropped the first two sets to the Great Danes, but earned a 25-23 victory in the third set before falling in set four. Stony Brook now sits at 16-11 on the season, 6-5 in league play, while Albany moves to 11-13 on the season, 11-1 in the America East. 

Belzung's Reaction
"There were some things that we did really well tonight," said head coach Kristin Belzung. "Albany's strength is defense and they force you to earn ever point and we strung some errors together, but for the most part that was a pretty well played match by us." 

Set-By-Set
- The Seawolves traded points with Albany for most of first set before the Great Danes put together 5-1 run late to earn the 25-23 victory. Jordan Gels (Lewis Center, Ohio) collected six kills in the set. 
- Stony Brook owned a 16-12 lead in the second set before Albany chipped away to tie it up 20-20. The Great Danes then scored five of the next six points to secure the win.
- Again the teams trades points early before the Seawolves secured three of the last four points of the set to come away with a 25-23 win. Kendra Harlow (St. James, N.Y.) recorded a pair of blocks to help Stony Brook nab two of the final three points.
- Albany controlled the fourth set and led by as many as eight points early before they secured the 25-16 victory to take the match.

The Seawolves host Binghamton on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Pritchard Gym in the final regular season match of the season. Seniors Melann Amory (Center Valley, Pa.), Cydney Bowman (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Abby Hickey (Dekalb, Ill.) will be honored prior to the match.
