HANOVER, N.H. – No. 6 Stony Brook men's soccer fell at No. 3 New Hampshire, 1-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 America East Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday night at Wildcat Stadium.
With the loss, the Seawolves (7-5-5, 1-3-3 AE) have been eliminated from the postseason conference tournament.
Quoting Head Coach Ryan Anatol
"I thought tonight was a tight conference tournament game. Both teams worked hard and had their moments. It felt like one goal was going to separate the teams and unfortunately we couldn't find one tonight. We are disappointed in the result but I am pleased with the effort and commitment our guys showed."

- New Hampshire's goal came in the 71st minute, as Jacob Gould blasted a shot into the top right corner of the net from 20 yards out to make it 1-0.
- Tom McMahon (Nassau Bay, Texas) recorded six saves in total for Stony Brook, giving him 46 stops in 2017. McMahon recorded a 6-2-2 overall record for the Seawolves in 2017, and leaves the program with 14 career shutouts – which ranks No. 3 all-time for the Seawolves.
- Lars Togstad (Trondheim, Norway), Serge Gamwanya (Trondheim, Norway), Mark Irvine (Southampton, England), Barnabas Mako (Budapest, Hungary) and Eric McKenna (Great River, N.Y.).
- The Seawolves tallied six total shots to New Hampshire's 19. Stony Brook also attempted five corners.
The loss ends the Seawolves' 2017 campaign. Stony Brook tallied six total non-conference victories this year – its most since the 2012 season. The program will graduate 11 student-athletes (
