BOSTON - Stony Brook women's basketball freshman India Pagan (New London, Conn.) has been named America East Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday, Dec. 18. The first-year forward tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds on 9-of-11 shooting in a pair of Stony Brook wins this past week.

Pagan recorded eight points (4-of-5 shooting) in the Seawolves' win over Iona on Dec. 14, then registered 11 points and a season-high nine rebounds (5-of-6 shooting) in a victory vs. Central Connecticut State on Dec. 17. The forward from New London, Conn. is averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per contests for the Seawolves so far in 2017-18, starting in all 11 games.

Pagan and the Seawolves head south this week, traveling to Statesboro to square off with Georgia Southern on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
