EVANSTON, Ill. – Stony Brook women's basketball looks to bounce back on Sunday, Dec. 10, traveling to Northwestern for a 12 p.m. non-conference matchup.
Last Time Out
• Stony Brook women's basketball fell in double overtime vs. Yale, 77-71, on Wednesday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena. With the loss, the Seawolves fall to 5-3 so far this season.

Cheyenne Clark (Deptford, N.J.) tied a Stony Brook women's basketball program record with 23 total rebounds in the loss, grabbing 15 defensive rebounds and eight offensive rebounds. The only other Stony Brook player to ever record 23 rebounds in a contest was Dana Ferraro, who did so vs. Boston University on Jan. 18, 2006. Clark recorded 12 points and three assists to go along with her record-setting rebound total, giving the junior her second double-double in 2017-18.

Jerell Matthews (Chicago, Ill.) scored a team-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds for the Seawolves.

Aaliyah Worley (Philadelphia, PA) added 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, and
Shania Johnson (Frederick, MD.) tallied 13 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
• Stony Brook shot 38.5 percent from the floor in total, collecting 49 total rebounds as a team (second-highest total in 2017-18).
Scouting Northwestern
• The Wildcats check in at 5-4 so far this season. Northwestern has dropped its last three contests heading into Sunday's game.
• Lindsey Pulliam leads the way for the Wildcats, registering 15.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest. Abi Scheid has chipped in with 13.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game to date.
• Sunday's matchup will be the first-ever between the two programs.

Caroline McCombs enters her fourth season as the head coach of the Stony Brook women's basketball team in 2017-18, as the Seawolves head coach has risen among the winningest coaches in Stony Brook's Division I era.
• With five victories to begin the 2017-18 season, McCombs has now won 51 games on Long Island – which ranks second among Stony Brook coaches in the Division I era. McCombs guided the Seawolves' program to 17 wins in 2014-15, 17 victories in 2015-16, and 12 wins this year.

Cheyenne Clark (Deptford, N.J.) is currently averaging 10.9 rebounds per contest, which ranks No. 1 in the America East and No. 21 nationally. Clark grabbed 23 rebounds on Dec. 6 vs. Yale, the third-highest single-game rebound total for any player in the country this season.
Daunting Defense
Stony Brook has allowed just 55.0 points per contest, which ranks No. 22 in the nation. The program has forced opponents to shoot just 23.9 percent from beyond the arc, which checks in at No. 20 nationally and best in the America East. Opponents have shot just 35.6 percent from the floor vs. the Seawolves, which ranks 46th lowest in the country.

Preseason Poll
The Seawolves have been selected to finish No. 8 in the 2017-18 America East Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Oct. 19, 2017. Stony Brook received 16 total votes in the poll. New Hampshire was voted as the unanimous league favorite, garnering 64 total votes.
