FAIRFIELD, Connecticut - Stony Brook softball dropped a pair of games to Sacred Heart on Thursday afternoon at Pioneer Park.
Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.),
Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.),
Lindsey Hughes (San Dimas, Calif.),
Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.),
Jordyn Nowakowski (San Diego, Calif.) and
Sami Duffy (Carmel, N.Y.) all registered a hit on the afternoon for the Seawolves.

Game 1: Sacred Heart 2, Stony Brook 0
Â
Rahrich was also impressive on the mound for Stony Brook, going 6.1 innings while giving up just three hits and two earned runs to go along with four strikeouts. The freshman has thrown a team-high 40.1 innings on the mound so far this year.
Â
At the plate in Game 1, Rahrich reached base three times - recording the Seawolves only hit and walking twice.
Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) also reached base with a walk of her own.
Â
Game 2: Sacred Heart 3, Stony Brook 1
Â
The Seawolves got another good pitching performance in Game 2, as
Maddy Neales (Orange, Calif.) and Hughes combined to give up just six hits and three runs in total. Neales went the first 3.0 innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three Sacred Heart batters. Hughes went the last 3.0 scoreless innings, striking out five batters out of the bullpen.
Â
Stony Brook got on the board for the first time on Thursday in the top of the sixth inning. Rivera singled to left-center field, and Duffy came around to score on a throwing error to, at the time, cut the Pioneers' lead to 3-1.
Â
The Seawolves were able to get a runner on second base in the seventh inning - as Nowakowski doubled down the right field line - but their rally ultimately fell short.
