Hering records two hits, Seawolves fall at Maine in Sunday matinee

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Freshman Jourdin Hering (Federal Way, Wash.) recorded two hits on Sunday afternoon at Kessock Field, but Stony Brook softball fell by the final score of 8-0 in five innings. With the loss, Stony Brook falls to 9-21 (5-5 AEC).
 
Notes
  • Hering went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, raising her batting average to .337. She's now hit safely in seven of her last nine games.
  • Lexie Shue (Lakewood, Calif.) and Allyssa Malony (Runnemede, N.J.) each added a hit, as well. Shue now has 17 hits so far this year, and Maloney has 11.
  • Chelsea Evans (Merced, Calif.) also reached base twice for the Seawolves with two walks, raising her on-base percentage to .337.
  • Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) made her fourth appearance in the circle this season, going 2.2 innings out of the bullpen. She gave up just three hits and two runs.
On Deck
The Seawolves are back in action on Tuesday, April 18, hosting Iona in a non-conference game (3 p.m.) at University Field.
