STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook softball fell in the third and final game of a conference series vs. UMass Lowell, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at University Field. The Seawolves (11-24, 6-7 AE) loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom half of the seventh inning, but couldn't complete the comeback.
Sami Duffy (Carmel, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 at the plate with Stony Brook's lone RBI in the loss. Duffy singled to plate
Allyssa Malony (Runnemede, N.J.) in the bottom of the second, cutting the River Hawks' lead to 2-1, at the time.
Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) threw a complete-game in the circle for the second day in a row, giving her seven for the season. She gave up just seven hits and one earned runs in 7.0 innings, striking out two batters.

"[Rahrich] pitched a heck of a game today for us, she gave us every chance to win. We just didn't do enough at the plate to get the job done."

- After giving up just one earned run on Sunday, Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) owns a 3.82 ERA so far during her freshman year.
- Ally Dabroski (Cedar Grove, N.J.) went 1-for-2 with a walk for the Seawolves, reaching base twice for the first time this season.
- Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) and Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) both chipped in at the plate with a hit of their own.
