STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook men's soccer looks to bounce back vs. Seton Hall on Friday, Sept. 1 at LaValle Stadium. 

Latest in Stony Brook Men's Soccer
  • The Seawolves most recently fell to Army, 3-0, on Monday night at LaValle Stadium, moving to 1-1-0 (0-0-0 AEC) so far in 2017. Stony Brook topped Canisius, 2-0, in its 2017 home opener on Aug. 25 behind goals from senior Vince Erdei (Budapest, Hungary) and graduate student Robin Bjornholm-Jatta (Trondheim, Norway).
  • Stony Brook went 9-6-3 (4-2-1 America East) last season, earning the No. 1 seed in the 2016 America East Tournament. The Seawolves achieved their highest RPI ranking in program history (43) during the course of the year, and head into 2017 with nine returning starters.
  • As a whole, the America East Conference finished with the nation's third-best RPI behind only the ACC and Big Ten in men's soccer. Seven total teams finished in the top 80 of the RPI, as America East men's soccer programs combined to go 53-23-12 (.670) against non-conference opponents.
  • The Seawolves were selected to finish third in the 2017 America East Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Scouting Seton Hall
  • Seton Hall has gone 0-1-1 in two games so far this season, playing to a 1-1 draw vs. Saint Peter's (Aug. 25), and a 2-1 loss vs. Rider (Aug. 28).
  • Sophomore Jonathan Jimenez returns for the Pirates after registering two goals and a team-high five assists in 2016.
  • Seton Hall was selected to finish 10th in the Big East Conference 2017 Preseason Poll.
