STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook men's soccer prepares for two more non-conference games this week, hosting NJIT on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at LaValle Stadium before traveling to Bryant on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
Latest in Stony Brook Men's Soccer
- The Seawolves most recently played to a 1-1 tie at Hofstra in their first road game of the 2017 regular season on Sept. 9. Senior Vince Erdei (Budapest, Hungary) scored his third goal of the season on a penalty kick to even the score with just 19:41 left in regulation.
- Erdei has been named America East men's soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Sept. 11. Erdei tallied a conference-best five points this past week in two games, recording two goals and one assist for the Seawolves – who went 1-0-1 in non-conference action.
- With a win over CCSU on Sept. 6, Stony Brook head coach Ryan Anatol has reached the 50-win mark for his career as a Division I head coach.
- Stony Brook went 9-6-3 (4-2-1 America East) last season, earning the No. 1 seed in the 2016 America East Tournament. The Seawolves achieved their highest RPI ranking in program history (43) during the course of the year, and head into 2017 with nine returning starters.
- As a whole, the America East Conference finished with the nation's third-best RPI behind only the ACC and Big Ten in men's soccer. Seven total teams finished in the top 80 of the RPI, as America East men's soccer programs combined to go 53-23-12 (.670) against non-conference opponents.
- The Seawolves were selected to finish third in the 2017 America East Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Scouting NJIT
- NJIT is 5-0-1 so far in 2017, including a 4-0-1 record away from home.
- Mamadou Guirassy has a team-high eight goals, which ranks No. 1 in the nation entering the week. Goalkeeper Victor Pujades has allowed just two scores in six total games.

- Bryant enters the week at 0-5-0, most recently falling 4-0 vs. Rhode Island on Sept. 7.
- The Bulldogs haven't scored a goal yet in 2017.
