Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Strong second half propels Seawolves to conference victory at home

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook women's basketball earned its third conference win of the season on Wednesday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena, besting UMass Lowell by the final score of 59-50. With the win, the Seawolves improve to 11-9 (3-4 AE) so far in 2017-18.

Quoting Head Coach Caroline McCombs
"I thought it really took us until the fourth quarter tonight to string some good possessions together. Give credit to UMass Lowell for forcing us into some turnovers, and not allowing us to get into an offensive rhythm. We were able to pound the boards tonight, which helped us keep the ball alive offensively. We really had to grind this one out, and our late-game fight was able to propel us to a conference victory."
