BANGOR, Maine – Stony Brook women's basketball dropped its 2017-18 America East opener, 64-56, on Wednesday night at Cross Insurance Center. With the loss, the Seawolves fall to 8-6 (0-1 AE) so far this season.
Quoting Head Coach Caroline McCombs
"Maine is a very good team and they were very efficient offensively from the field in the second half. We were able to force a good amount of turnovers, but we weren't able to convert on those chances like we needed to. I thought we made a few good runs, but to go on the road in a tough environment we need to be sharp on every possession. We will continue to focus on getting better in practice every day."

- Stony Brook shot 18-of-53 (34.0 percent) from the floor in the loss, going 7-of-24 from beyond the 3-point arc.
