STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook volleyball team is set to host Hartford on Thursday as it continues conference play, then travel to Iona for a non-conference matchup on Sunday. Stony Brook enters the match Thursday riding an eight game winning streak. 
 
Scouting Hartford
The Hawks come into the match with a 9-9 record (2-4 AE). The team is coming off a 1-1 weekend. Hartford was defeated by UMBC in five sets on Friday, and ended the weekend on a high note winning in four sets against Binghamton on Sunday. The Hawks are led by junior middle blocker Jenna Bridges who averages 4.14 kills per set, giving her a total of 261 for the season so far. 
 
Scouting Iona
The Gaels come into the match with an 11-5 record (9-1 MAAC). The team is coming off a 2-0 weekend. Iona defeated Fairfield and Quinnipiac, both in four sets. The Gaels are led by senior outside hitter Claire Archibald who averages 4.02 kills per set, giving her a total of 249 for the season so far.
 
Last Time Out
Stony Brook is coming off a dominating weekend in which the team swept Binghamton and UMBC. The team looks to continue its success, aiming to make it nine wins in a row. 
 
Brooks Looks to Continue Surge 
Senior McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) notched 25 kills this past weekend, hitting at a .362 pct. 
 
In the Ranks
The Seawolves lead the America East in assists with 864, averaging 12.17 per set. The team also leads the conference in kills with 927, and is second behind New Hampshire in digs with 1,1,41. 
 
Kerstetter, Brooks Earn Weekly Honors
Sophomore Kiani Kerstetter (Cardiff, Calif.) and McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) each earned weekly conference honors this week. Kerstetter was named Defensive Specialist of the Week, and Brooks was Player of the Week. The honor was the first for Brooks in the 2018 season. 
Kerstetter averaged 6.00 digs per set in the 2-0 week for Stony Brook, giving her a total of 36. The Cardiff, California native now has 307 for the season so far.
Brooks averaged 4.17 kills per set for the Seawolves, notching double digits in both victories. The senior ended the week with 25 kills, and now has 214 for the season.
