STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook volleyball team is set to host New Hampshire on Friday, and UMass Lowell on Sunday. Stony Brook enters the weekend riding a 10 game winning streak.
 
Scouting New Hampshire
The Wildcats come into the match with a 9-12 record (5-2 AE).  The team is coming off a 3-0 victory against UMass Lowell on Friday.  New Hampshire is led by senior middle blocker Gabri Olhava who averages 3.20 kills per set, giving her a total of 262 on the season so far.
 
Last Time Out vs. New Hampshire
When the Seawolves faced the Wildcats for the first time this season, the team defeated them in four sets.  Senior McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) and junior Jordan Gels (Lewis Center, Ohio) led the way with 13 kills each. 
 
Scouting UMass Lowell
The River Hawks come into the weekend with a 3-18 record (1-6 AE). The team is coming off a 3-0 loss to New Hampshire on Friday. UMass Lowell is led by junior outside hitter Madi Bell who averages 2.24 kills per set, giving her a total of 157 for the season so far. 
 
Last Time Out vs. UMass Lowell
When Stony Brook faced the River Hawks for the first time this season, the team defeated them in three sets. Brooks, Maria Poole (Stavanger, Norway) and graduate student Emily Costello (Webster, N.Y.) led the way with eight kills each.
 
Killing It!
Senior McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) has notched double digit kills in seven straight matches. 
 
In the Ranks
The Seawolves rank first in the conference in assists (941) and kills (1,004). 
 
Sakowicz Earns America East Weekly Honors
Junior LeAnne Sakowicz (Wauconda, Ill.) earned weekly conference honors this week. Sakowicz was named Setter of the Week.
Sakowicz averaged 10.5 assists per set leading the Seawolves to a league-best .356 hitting percentage.
