STONY BROOK, N.Y.-The Stony Brook volleyball team is set to begin a stretch of four matches at home, beginning Friday against Albany. The Seawolves enter the weekend riding a five game winning streak.
Scouting Albany
The Great Danes come into the match with an 8-7 record (2-0 AE). The team is coming a 2-0 weekend, in which they earned conference victories against Binghamton and UMBC. Albany is led by junior middle blocker Akubata Okenwa, who averages 2.87 kills per set giving her a total of 155 on the season.
Last Time Out
Stony Brook is coming off conference wins against UMass Lowell and New Hampshire. The team swept the Riverhawks in three sets Friday, and then came out on top in a four set battle against the Wildcats on Sunday. The victory against New Hampshire was the team's first since 2012.

The Seawolves lead the America East in assists with 727, averaging 11.92 per set. The team also leads the conference in kills with 781.
Kerstetter, Sakowicz Earn Weekly Honors
Sophomore
Kiani Kerstetter (Cardiff, Calif.) and junior
LeAnne Sakowicz (Wauconda, Ill.) received America East honors this week. Kerstetter was Defensive Specialist of the Week and Sakowicz was Setter of the Week.
Kerstetter helped Stony Brook hold opponents to a league-best .083 hitting percentage while averaging 5.42 digs per set. The Cardiff, California native notched 38 digs in the weekend, giving her a total of 244 for the season so far.
Sakowicz notched 26 assists against UMass Lowell as well as 44 assists and 18 digs in the 3-1 win over New Hampshire while pacing Stony Brook to a league-best .295 hitting percentage in the 2-0 weekend.
