STONY BROOK, N.Y.-The Stony Brook volleyball team is set to head upstate for a match on Sunday against Albany. Stony Brook enters the weekend riding a 12 game winning streak.
Scouting Albany
The Great Danes come into the match with a 13-8 record (7-1 AE). The team is right behind the Seawolves in the conference standings. Albany is coming off a 2-0 weekend in which they defeated UMBC in four sets on Friday, and Binghamton in a five set battle on Sunday. The Great Danes are led by junior middle blocker Akuabata Okenwa who averages 2.99 kills per set, giving her a total of 236 for the season so far.

Since the five set loss to Bryant on September 14, the Seawolves have gone 12-0 in which nine wins were against conference opponents. The last time the Seawolves won 12 in a row was 2007.

The team leads the conference in assists with 1,028 and kills with 1,103.
Freshman
Sabrina Patriciello (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) leads the conference in service aces (60 SP) with 21, averaging 0.35 per set.
Senior
McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) ranks second in the conference with a .331 hitting percentage.
Post Season Bound!
After the four set victory against New Hampshire on Friday, the Seawolves clinched a spot to play in the 2018 conference post season. This is the second straight season the team will compete in the America East Championships. In 2017, the Seawolves won the first America East Championship in program history.
